Canadian Domestic and International Mergers and Acquisitions Activity: A Spatial Imperfections Dimension
Published in Paperback by Dissertation.com (December, 1998)
Author: Vincenzo Aliberti
Average review score:

Excellent Descriptive and Applicable Book
I feel this book embraces mergers and acquisitions and foreign direct investment from three different perspectives or disciplines: International Business, Economics and Economic Geography. This is the first book that I have ever read that truly provides an exceptional overview as well as, an applicable approach on how M&A's are employed as a vehicle of FDI from a micro and macro-economic perspective. All I can say is that this book is absolutely brilliant!

A TOP NOTCH GUIDE TO CFL CARDS
Although the Canadian Football League is not well known outside of our North Country neighbor, the hobby of collecting CFL cards is alive and thriving. The 4th Edition of THE CHARLTON CANADIAN FOOTBALL CARD PRICE GUIDE is a concise, top notch compendium to CFL cards that covers all the bases and then some. Football fans and card collectors who follow the CFL know that the wild, three-down game boasts a long history of outstanding players. The hobby of CFL card collecting likewise features some great cards. From post World War II stars like Russ Jackson, Jackie Parker, Normie Kwong, and Angelo Mosca, to more modern attractions like Americans Joe Theismann, Warren Moon, and Doug Flutie, the CFL has seen it all. This 4th Ed. guide by W. K. Cross and Richard Scott is an essential information source for collectors wishing to broaden their hobby focus to include our Canadian gridiron cousins. Arranged chronologically, complete checklists of the major sets and suggested prices are included throughout. The alphabetical checklist at the end, showing the colleges attended by every CFL player who has a card, is a feature of special interest to alumni collectors. All in all, this is a superior price guide to a small, fascinating hobby, reasonably priced and attractively bound. By Mike Bonner, author of COLLECTING FOOTBALL CARDS, A COMPLETE GUIDE WITH PRICES. The Canadian Frontier, 1534-1760
Published in Paperback by University of New Mexico Press (December, 1983)
Author: William J. Eccles
Average review score:

The Canadian Frontier
W. J. Eccles did a phenomenal job in covering the history of New France. I was expecting a dry history. I didn't get one. What I got was a story of men and a few women.

This book is a facinating account of the settlement of Canada under the French. For a history book, it was hard to put down. Eccles brought the problems of starting and maintaining a colony to life. He presents historical figures like Frontenac and La Salle as real people who made real mistakes without excuses or whitewashing.

I would recommend this book to anyone doing any type of research into New France.

A Canadian Heraldic Primer
Published in Paperback by Dundurn Press, Ltd. (01 January, 2001)
Author: Kevin Greaves
Average review score:

A Great Little Book!
This is a great little introduction to heraldry, with a Canadian focus. Heraldists in other parts of the world will also find it a fun addition to their library- it is a very rare heraldry book which contains cartoons.

The only problem with the book is that it is just an introduction. The author could probably put in enough information (and humour) to write a book about ten times as long.

The Canadian Landscape/Le Paysage Canadien
Published in Hardcover by Firefly Books (October, 2001)
Author: J. A. Kraulis
Average review score:

Outstanding.
The Canadian Landscape by J A Kraulis is an extraordinary example of the beauty that can be found in this part of the world. The images in this book are magnificent and have the ability to soothe, excite and inspire. I found that many of Kraulis' photographs have a powerful quality to them. In the same way that actually witnessing a brilliant sunset can make you pause and feel better about life, these photographs and the descriptions that accompany them provide you with that experience over and over again. This is a book that would be enjoyed by anyone who appreciates the amazing power and beauty of nature.

Essential book for Canadian military history information.
Anyone with an interest in Canada's military history needs this book in their collection. Providing numerous bibliograhic information on books dealing with Canada's military history from 1867 to 1995. Divided into army, naval, and airforce sections each then divided into year groupings; pre WW1, WW1, WW2, and post WW2. Although there a few misprints, and I mean very few, this book is an absolute necessity to both the casual reader and the serious researcher.
